As we face the challenges and uncertainty around addressing the COVID-19 virus, the Tool Shed has decided to temporarily shut down our regular in-store face-to-face for the time being, starting on March 18, 2020 and lasting at least through March 31, 2020 (or longer if needed).
March 26 update: We have extended our in-person shopping closure through April 6, and will continue to monitor the advice of public health professionals and local ordinances. Meanwhile, we are still fulfilling online orders to be shipped by USPS.
March 23 update: Please note that in light of Wisconsin's statewide Safer-At-Home order, we are no longer able to offer our in-store pickup option that was originally described in this article on March 17.
We are still shipping orders via US Postal Service-- if you're thinking about getting toys, lube, books, kinky gear, or other sexuality supplies online during this time, consider placing an order with us! You can help keep our staff paid, and help keep our little store afloat during this difficult time.
Even though we won't be open for in-person shopping/browsing, we will continue to ship online orders as usual. Shipping is free on domestic orders of $50 or more.
Though we had already enacted measures to minimize risk to our staff and customers (thanks to all of you for cheerfully washing your hands in our store these past several days), closing our in-store browsing will help support the current need for minimal in-person community contact. We believe this is critical as we collectively attempt to slow the spread of this virus and help our health care system cope with the burden of caring for people in need.
We will continue to be available to answer questions online via our contact form, and will be providing free, online live question and answer sessions about all things sexuality-related. Since folks will be spending a lot of time at home in the coming weeks, we're looking forward to offering some interactive and fun educational opportunities to help you pass the time. Details on those happenings will follow in the coming days!
Thank you all for your understanding and support. This is a time of great uncertainty for all of us, and especially so for small businesses. Our customers are truly awesome-- you mean the world to us. We hope to return from this challenge stronger and with a renewed commitment to providing a positive resource for our Milwaukee-area community.
